Account Deletion
PostMyPlatter allows you to permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.
How to delete your account
- Open the PostMyPlatter app (iOS or Android) or visit app.postmyplatter.com
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Select a reason and confirm
You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is scheduled.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed within 30 days of your request:
- Your profile (name, restaurant name, and all account settings)
- All saved posts and associated images
- Caption usage history
- Any feedback or support messages you submitted
What is retained
The following data may be retained after deletion for legal and financial compliance:
- Billing and transaction records: if you subscribed via Stripe (web), transaction records are retained by our payment processor for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations. PostMyPlatter does not retain your payment card details.
- Email address: retained in anonymised or suppressed form to honour unsubscribe preferences and prevent accidental re-registration.
Subscriptions managed through Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to the respective platform’s data retention policies.
Cancelling your subscription before deletion
If you have an active subscription, cancel it through the platform you used to subscribe before or during account deletion:
- Web subscribers: cancellation is handled automatically when you delete your account
- Apple subscribers:cancel via iOS Settings → Subscriptions before deleting
- Google Play subscribers:cancel via Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions before deleting
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple or Google Play subscription. Failing to cancel may result in continued charges.
Changed your mind?
Once your deletion begins, you have 7 days to cancel the request. Visit app.postmyplatter.com/recover and sign in to restore your account. After the 7-day recovery window, your account can no longer be recovered, and your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days.
