Privacy Policy
The following is placeholder text written in plain language to demonstrate the layout of this page. PostMyPlatter will replace this with a real Privacy Policy — drafted via a template service or with legal counsel — before public launch.
01 Overview
This policy explains what data PostMyPlatter collects, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with (very few parties), and what choices you have.
Short version: we collect what we need to run the service, nothing more. We don’t sell data. We don’t use your photos to train models without telling you first. If you have a question, email us.
02 Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up: your email address, a password (hashed), and your name. If you subscribe: payment details (handled by our payment processor — we never see your full card number).
Content you upload
Photos, captions, drafts, and any other content you create in PostMyPlatter.
Usage data
How you interact with the service: which features you use, which templates and tones you pick, error logs. Used to improve the product.
Device information
Device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, and timezone. Used for compatibility and security.
| Type | Source | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Email & name | You provide | Account, support |
| Photos & captions | You upload | To provide the service |

| Payment details | Payment processor | Billing only |
03 How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service — including hosting your photos and generating captions
- Bill you, if you’re on a paid plan
- Send transactional emails — receipts, security alerts, trial reminders
- Send occasional product updates (you can opt out in account settings)
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security threats
- Improve the product based on aggregate usage
04 Sharing & disclosure
We share data only with the parties who help us run the service.
Vendor list to be finalized before public launch. Categories will include: payment processing, web hosting, AI caption generation, transactional email, and error monitoring. The final list, and the data each vendor receives, will appear here.
We may also disclose data if required by law, valid subpoena, or to protect rights and safety. We don’t sell your data to advertisers — there are no ads in PostMyPlatter and there won’t be.
05 Cookies & tracking
The marketing site at postmyplatter.com uses a small number of cookies for basic analytics — we want to know which pages people read and where signups come from. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.
The web app uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. That’s it.
06 AI captions & training
When you generate a caption, your photo and a small amount of context (template, tone, business name if you’ve set one) are sent to our AI provider to produce the caption. The providers we use have agreed not to use this data to train their models.
We do not use your photos or captions to train our own models. If we ever change that, we’ll ask first.
07 Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. After you delete your account, content is removed from production systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days, except where law requires longer retention.
08 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Export your data (we provide a JSON export from account settings)
- Object to certain processing
To exercise any of these, email info@postmyplatter.com. We respond within 30 days.
09 Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Payment details never touch our servers. No security system is perfect — if you spot a vulnerability, please email security@postmyplatter.com.
10 Children
PostMyPlatter is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we’ll delete it.
11 International transfers
PostMyPlatter is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses where required.
12 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. For material changes, we’ll email you and post a notice on the site.
