Sharing your post to Instagram

PostMyPlatter does not connect directly to Instagram. Instead, you download your finished post as an image file and upload it to Instagram yourself. Every post is created in the 4:5 portrait format Instagram recommends for feed posts.

Step 1: Download your post

On iPhone, iPad, and Android

  • While creating: on the final Share screen, tap Share to open the share sheet and select Instagram directly, or tap Save to Photos to save the image to your camera roll first.
  • From My Posts: tap a post to expand it, then tap the download icon to save it to your camera roll.

On the web

  • While creating: tap the Download icon in the toolbar. The image saves to your device as a PNG file.
  • From My Posts: go to app.postmyplatter.com/posts, hover over a post, and tap the download icon.

Step 2: Copy your caption

On iPhone, iPad, and Android

  • While creating: your caption is automatically copied to your clipboard when you reach the Share screen. A confirmation message is shown. Just paste it when Instagram asks for a caption.
  • From My Posts: tap a post to expand it, then tap Copy Caption.

On the web

  • While creating: tap Copy Caption in the Caption panel. The caption is also automatically copied when you save a post.
  • From My Posts: hover over a post card to preview the caption, then copy it manually.

Step 3: Post to Instagram

  1. Open Instagram
  2. Tap + to create a new post
  3. Select the image from your camera roll or downloads folder
  4. Paste your caption in the caption field
  5. Add any additional hashtags or tags, then share

Tips

  • All posts are exported at full resolution: no quality loss when uploading to Instagram
  • The 4:5 ratio fills the Instagram feed portrait format without cropping
  • If Instagram crops your image, select Original (not Square) in the Instagram crop screen
